The Electoral Commission has set July 4th and 5th, 2012 as the nomination dates for the ten elective unfilled positions declared vacant in Gulu District.
According to Anyanzo, the nomination exercise will take two days and will close on the 5th of July 2012 and that some candidates had already begun picking up nomination forms after it was opened last Friday.
In May, the Electoral Commission head quarters declared ten positions in Gulu district vacant and subsequently called for elections to fill the vacant posts.
They include the Female Youth Councillors for Lalogi, Palaro, Bungatira, Lakwana Sub Counties and Layibi Division.
Other vacant positions include Female representatives for People With Disabilities (PWD) for Lalogi, and Odek Sub Counties and Male PWD representative for Odek Sub County.
The Electoral Commission will also organize for the election of the directly elected Councillor III for Vanguard parish, Pece Division. By A Web design Company
