Outgoing Uganda Peoples Defence Spokesman Lt Col Paddy Ankunda has said the Uganda Peoples Congress deputy national mobiliser Oola Dan Odiya will be produced before the military court martial in Makindye in Kampala.
Ankunda who, it was announced this morning, has been removed from his position, did not say when Mr Odiya and his two co-accused will appear before the military court martial or what charge will be preferred against them.
The Director of Public Prosecution has discounted proceeding against Mr Oola, Kenneth Otto and Sam Ojok Oboma. The three had been accused with treason, concealment of treason, attempted murder and murder by shooting.
Pained- clothed security personnel on Thursday re-arrested the three from the Gulu court premises before the three could walk free.
“You look at the UPDF Act section 129 and 130…it talks about security related offences that is why he has been re-arrested so he will be taken to the general court martial ”Ankunda told Acholi Times by phone from Kampala.
A lawyer of the three, Nicholas Opiyo has accused the office of the Director of Public Prosecution of working in connivance with security to re- arrest his clients.
