Micheal Odong, the Ugandan who was found dead at Schipol Airport in the Netherlands is an official of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Online reports indicate that Odong was founded dead yesterday at Schipol. Media reports in Uganda quote the Netherlands embassy as saying that a postmortem carried out on Odong incidicated ”natural causes” as reason of his death.
Acholi Times understands, Odong was the Assistant Commissioner in charge Agrochemicals in the Ministry and was reportedly en route to Geneva, Switzerland for official work.
News of Odong’s death started circulating on social media Tuesday morning.
Information from his passport circulating online indicates he was born in 1963.
The late Odong is the younger brother of former Amuru town Clerk Samuel Okot. His other brother is Dr Ben Watmon, an Ear Nose and Throat specialist at Gulu Regional Referral hospital.
The late Odong’s family home is in Custom Corner in Gulu municipality. He has links to the royal clan of Attiak in Amuru district.
