In the latest murder case, police say Charles Obur speared Auma, 35, twice on the stomach on Tuesday evening, killing her instantly.

He described the murder as tragic adding that the suspect had just been brought from Puranga in Pader district to work as a labourer at a farm in Purongo.
Okema said after the incident, Obur fled and is yet to be arrested. The motive of the murder remains unknown, according to police.
Meanwhile police has appealed to religious leaders to teach the gospel of love to communities in northern Uganda so that they don’t turn to violence in order to resolve conflicts.
Mzee Celestino Acellam, an elder in Koch Goma Sub County, Nwoya district attributes the high cases of violence in Acholi sub-region to trauma that locals suffered during the two- decade long conflict in northern Uganda.
“People have not recovered fully. There is a lot of cleansing that is still needed along side prayers to get rid of the misfortunes,” Acellam said.
Prof Emilio Ovuga, a psychiatrist at Gulu University faculty of medicine also attributes violent acts that has led to murders to trauma. Ovuga explains that because of the war , the communities are still experiencing what he described as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
